How rewards are calculated for W2E

Token rewards are calculated algorithmically. There are two main driving factors:

  1. Each video in a given Creator’s content library has a rating which takes into account a variety of factors such as video age, length and popularity. Using this rating a base score is calculated for the W2E engagement between fans and individual content items in the library.

  2. Each fan (identified through a unique plugin ID) has a multiplier factor based on their participation in the broader XCAD and creator ecosystem (such as how much XCAD they stake, or how many NFT Moments they have collected).

The combined reward rating is a combination of fan and video engagement and takes the video base score and the fan multiplier into account. This combined rating determines how many β€œtoken claim points” an individual fan earns and these points, in turn, determine how many tokens a fan may claim from the rewards claim pool.

During a given time period, fans accumulate token claim points for watching videos from the Creator's content library. The total points awarded are then equated to the token rewards available for that time period. So, if there are 10,000 points awarded across the fan base, and 20,000 creator tokens available for the time period, then each fan receives a total of 2 tokens per point accumulated. A fan with 25 points receives 50 tokens, and a fan with 5 points receives 10 tokens. This ensures that fans that have accumulated more token points through participation naturally get more token rewards. The rate of conversion from points to creator tokens also adjusts to take activity into account. This favours earlier adopters who follow a Creator’s content from the beginning and help to make it known.

This is our V1.0 setup for the reward system and the analytics and data systems for the rewards token is expected to be fully integrated into subsequent versions as the system evolves.
